Where You Work Is NOT a Microcosm of Your Life

Do you think your workplace is a microcosm of your life? Do you think that just because your company can't use all of your talents that there isn't any place for them.

If you work for a company that isn't your own, you run the extreme danger of undervaluing yourself. Why? Because that company is, by its very nature, a "limited marketplace" for the talents of the employees. And since many of the employees may have similar talents, your chances of using your best talents decreases.

Compare that with owning your own company based on your talents. Now your marketplace and therefore demand for your talents is much larger.

It may seem like an obvious point, but I've seen many people limit their ability to fully use their talents based on how their employers will allow them to use them. They then start believing employers *are* the marketplace for their talents.

Well, they're not. In fact, employers actually serve most of the time to filter your talents OUT of the marketplace so your chances of using them are minimized!
